Accessing NZULM Data

What do you mean by “data”?

The information on this page refers to the “raw” data files that make up the NZULM. These are compliled from our database and distributed to interested parties on a monthly basis in CSV format.

Getting direct access to the NZULM data

If you would like to have the latest NZULM data provided to you each month, please send an email to [email protected]. Please provide your name, organisation, and a contact phone number. We will also want to know how you intend to use the data so we can provide suitable implementation guidance and assistance.

Disclaimer

The information contained on the NZULM web site and distributed in the download files is derived from many different sources. Information suppliers include the NZ Medicines Terminology, Medsafe and PHARMAC, the Pharmaceutical Management Agency. The subsidy information in the NZULM is taken from the latest version of the Pharmaceutical Schedule published by PHARMAC. While every care has been taken in compiling the NZULM, the NZULM and the suppliers of the information provided through the NZULM take no responsibility for any errors, omissions or inaccuracies, and shall not be liable for any consequences arising therefrom.

Who should use the raw NZULM data?

NZULM data is intended to provide aggregated foundation information for the NZ Health Sector, based on a common coding and naming structure provided by the NZ Medicines Terminology (NZMT) Users of this data will primarily include software vendors, analysts, and researchers, but the data is available to anyone with a legitimate need. Clinicians and other medical professionals will generally access the NZULM data via some kind of software interface that provides search and other occupational functions.

Who owns the NZULM data?

The NZULM service is owned by the NZ Government and the content provided by this service is made available, free of charge, to users and vendors within the NZ Health Sector and to other interested parties under very permissive licensing terms.

You acknowledge that while every care has been taken in compiling the NZULM, we take no responsibility for any errors or omissions, and shall not be liable for any consequences arising there from. If you distribute or re-publish NZULM information, you will also distribute the disclaimer on this page so that users are aware of it. You must also make the license terms of the NZULM clear to others, and any licence terms of the suppliers of information to the NZULM. This information is available from this page and a link to this page should also be provided where possible.

Attribution

If you share or adapt this information you must attribute it, in writing, to the New Zealand Universal List of Medicines (NZULM).

Limitations

You agree to comply with any limitations imposed by the New Zealand Universal List of Medicines in relation to the use of the NZULM. These conditions, if any, will be displayed on the New Zealand Universal List of Medicines website (ie: here).
